Welcome to LA City FCA

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes engages coaches and athletes to grow in their faith and sport.

Get In Touch

Welcome to LA City FCA. LA City stretches from Santa Monica area down to Long Beach, from Palos Verdes to Boyle Heights. We currently have 66 huddles on 62 different campuses and are continuing to grow. Our goal in LA and all of FCA is to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. We strive to show the love of Jesus Christ not only through our words, but also through our actions. Please contact us for any additional information, or to share your prayer requests.

John 13:35 “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Athlete of the Month

Trinity Montoya-Jackson

FCA Leader, Venice High School

Plays goal keeper, forward, defender (and mid field when needed) for AYSO Region 1031 South Los Angeles and Coach Eric Wade. Plans on running track next semester.

Favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:31 “ What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” Attends church with her grandma at South Pasadena Christian Church.

FOne of my favorite things about FCA is having a platform at school to talk about God among other students who believe in Him. I also love having Jackie and Pastor Guy there and the great topics we talk about.

FCA is important to me because being around other Christian athletes helps me connect on another level with them no matter what sport they play and it helps to bring people together you didn’t think you would talk to.

Coach of the Month

Lorenzo Hernandez

Campus Advisor/Coach, Garfield High School

Mr. Hernandez is our FCA campus advisor and campus coach at Garfield High School in East LA. He has been the head football coach at Garfield High School for the past 14 years. Coach Hernandez, attended Huntington Park HS, college: San Diego State University, National University and USC.

And was the assistant equipment manager at SDSU under head coach Ted Tollner. His accomplishments speak values as to his commitment to teaching, equipping our FCA student athletes for their future. Lorenzo Hernandez is married and has two beautiful children. I am honored to call coach Hernandez my friend, teammate and brother!
